Something that has always frustrated me is when so Something that has always frustrated me is when someone will say something like "I was so busy today I didn't even have time to stop and eat lunch". And they wear that like a badge of honor.

When all I hear them say is "my day was so crazy I didn't have time to take care of myself. So there is no way I can take care of anyone else".

Busyness is not an excuse for putting ourselves last.

Food is instrumental in making sure our bodies and brains are ready to tackle what comes.
So is rest.

Does that mean you should make sure you get 30 minutes to an hour for lunch each day?

Ummmm I think we both know that's not always gonna happen!

Instead I make sure no matter what I make at least 5 minutes to stop, rest, and eat lunch.

Even just 5 minutes helps me be better for those around me who I am serving.

If I don't take care of me, I can't take of anyone else.

Heading into a new week with nothing but optimism Heading into a new week with nothing but optimism and joy. Setting my perspective right from the start.

(Mommy didn’t come on our “get last minute energy out before bed” walk 🤣. She enjoyed the time to herself)
Our local bookstore finally got my copy in of #AFa Our local bookstore finally got my copy in of #AFamilyLikeOurs. I have been obsessed with the “like you/ours” book series and this newest one is just as beautiful as all the others.

I’m so proud of my friend @allylee21 for being a part of this one too! She’s amazing. Bravo @frankmurphybooks and @kaylaharren for hitting it out of the park again too!!!

Go get your copy today!! You won’t regret it.
This big guy FINALLY got brave enough to drive his This big guy FINALLY got brave enough to drive his Jurassic Park jeep around. He was so proud of himself!!

May we all feel that proud of ourselves when we accomplish something that at one time scared us.

What is life with these two like right now? Well t What is life with these two like right now? Well they’re both HUGE fans of Mickey, Donald, Minnie, Goofy, and all things Toy Story and Frozen.

Brixton is a wild maniac. Who never runs out of energy. Wonder where he gets that from???

Liam wants to be carried 90% of the time (king status). Gets so excited and loves saying oooooh and ahhhhh at everything. I love seeing the excitement in his eyes. Even if he REFUSES to pose for almost every photo (unless we catch him off guard).

Those who say “wait til they’re old enough to remember before you take them” have clearly never taken a young child to Disney. These boys are in heaven.
Period. End of story. The graphic should speak eno Period. End of story. The graphic should speak enough.

BUT, in case you need more...we have been conditioned (especially as educators) to believe that if we miss a day of work it better be because we're attending PD or are deathly sick.

I'm tired of that belief. It's just another reason why people are burning out faster than ever.

We shouldn't feel bad, or be made to feel bad, when we just need to take a personal day for no other reason then "you know what, I just need a day away to breathe".

Let's normalize that. Because when we take better care of ourselves, we can take better care of others.

Don't let all your "sick/personal" days just accumulate. Take the day, disconnect, and focus a minute on you.
